August TBR 2016

This is late. Next month I’ll do better! I really wasn’t ready for this. But well, here we go!

These are books #2 and #3 in The Wheel of Time. I’m planning on reading both of these books this month (as well as finish the first one..). If I manage it, it’ll be a huge achievement! But it was my plan from the start to finish the first three books this summer, so now I just have to put my back into it. Hopefully I’ll have time to read some other books as well.

Did I mention that they are 700 and 620 pages long?

Escaping the Nazis on the Kindertransport by Emma Carlson Berne

I was so thrilled when I received an ARC of this book! It’s the first time I’ve gotten one, and to be honest, I never thought it would happen.

It tells the story of how children were sent to England to escape the Nazis during World War II. It is told with a mixture of photos, letters and the author’s writing. The thing I find most intriguing about this book is that it’s written for children – the publisher has recommended it for ages 9-12. I’ve already started reading it and a review is coming soon.

Of course this is on my TBR! I can’t wait for it to arrive at my doorstep! It felt like a great idea to pre-order this book, but now I kind of hate myself for not just going to the bookstore on the release day to pick it up. The wait is killing me! And I’m trying so hard to avoid spoilers (I love you Potterheads for keeping the secret ♥) and not reading reviews. But to see people who got it on the release day and read until morning, not able to put the book down, I envy you. Soon… soon…

Hopefully I’ll read all these books this month. I have 2 weeks of summer free time to enjoy before uni starts so it can’t be too difficult.

  1. The bookish community has been pretty good with the Cursed Child spoilers. I myself am waiting for a library copy and don’t feel that I’ve come across anything major to ruin the experience. Only a couple of weeks left in August, I hope you get to everything on your list!
