Book Shuffle #2

This is a monthly meme hosted by Clockwork Bibliophile. To read her original post CLICK HERE. There you can find the rules if you want to participate. But the basic concept is: Put your music library on shuffle, pair the first song that starts playing with a book and write a post about it.

Narnia the lion the witch and the wardrobeBook chosen:

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

‘They say Aslan is on the move. Perhaps he has already landed,’ whispered the Beaver. Edmund felt a sensation of mysterious horror. Peter felt brave and adventurous. Susan felt as if some delightful strain of music had just floated by. And Lucy got that feeling when you realise it’s the beginning of summer. So, deep in the bewitched land of Narnia, the adventure begins.

They opened a door and entered a world–Narnia–the land beyond the wardrobe, the secret country known only to Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. Lucy is the first to stumble through the back of the enormous wardrobe in the professor’s mysterious old country house, discovering the magic world beyond. At first, no one believes her. But soon Edmund, Peter and Susan, too, discover the magic and meet Aslan, the Great Lion, for themselves. And in the blink of an eye, they are changed forever.

Why did I chose this book?

If you have read this classic children’s tale you only need to listen to the lyrics to understand why I think it is fitting. If you haven’t read this book, read it now! It is a short story, completely worth your time.

“Oh dear children,
Who has brought you here?
Do come in and stay with me.
No harm shall happen to you!”

Run for your life
She’s getting closer
Run for your life
You hear her breathing
Run for your life
Her army’s marching
Run for your life
You feel her seeking
Reaching you, hunting you
Hunting all of you

Do you agree with me?

I really enjoy this meme, it doesn’t happen too often (I am a bit annoyed by the weekly ones). If you want to read the first one I did CLICK HERE, I did explain a bit more why I chose as I did there, compared to this post. But I just felt the quote explained everything if you have read the book. And if you haven’t, I hope it left you intrigued.
