Merlin Watch Along – S01E10: The Moment of Truth

Still continuing by myself. If you want to join, one episode with a review once a week, just tell me 😀 However, here is episode 10 of the first season:

Cassiopeia

This is the episode our heroes leave Camelot. Merlin’s mother comes in search of help, since her village is harassed by raiders. However, the village is outside the borders of Camelot and Uther cannot help without risking starting a war. Merlin feels it is his duty to go with his mother and help defend the village. Gwen and Morgana decides to come with him, as a thank to everything he’s done for them, and Arthur shows up after they’ve travelled halfway there.

I love how all the characters care for each other. You can really see what an amazing friendship they have formed (#FriendshipGoals) and when you think back to the first episode and the way Merlin and Arthur behaved, you almost wonder what happened.

I cannot help but enjoy the girl power in this episode either. You’ve already gotten used to Morgana speaking her mind to everyone (even Uther), but now Gwen starts to speak up as well. I love it. The way they give the women a place beside their men in the fight to come is beautiful. Good work BBC!

One of my favourite things with this episode was, without doubt, to get to see some of the people Merlin grew up with was amazing. Oh William, how I would have loved to see more of you. An also, who else noticed Anderson? Anderson from Sherlock?

Anderson

It feel like I’ve started to say this about way too many episodes, but this has to be one of my favourites. It is just so good! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Until next Friday…
