The second season of Merlin really shows what this show has to offer. Now the story really gets air under its wings and it will only get better from here.
This is such a beautiful episode. Again, this season was off to a shaky start with the first episode, but after that one they started doing things right. Morgana’s magic is getting stronger, and her fears are making it react. To be Uther’s ward is not a good thing when magic runs through your veins.
If you know anything about the Arthurian Legends you know what’s to come, and if you don’t (which was me before watching this) you have a lot to look forward to. Morgana finds, with the help of Merlin, help amongst the druids. There she meets Mordred again, and with the help of a druid named Aglain she sees that magic doesn’t have to be a force for evil.
Uther, on the other hand, is convinced Morgana has been kidnapped by the druids. He puts Arthur to the task of retrieving her. Again we see Uther’s fear of magic taking over. But we also get to see how much he cares. Sometimes I wonder if he cares more for Morgana than for Arthur…
The episode ends with Arthur thinking Merlin has feelings for Morgana! Love that scene! But to be honest, I do ship Merlin and Morgana a little bit.
This has to stop. The King would have your head if he found out, and there’s no point denying it.
Your affections for the Lady Morgana.
Take a bit of advice from someone who knows about women.
Arthur thinks so highly of himself. But I loved how the conversation then went to his own feelings for Guinevere. So many things are happening! And this season there are actually things spanning many episodes and setting groundwork for the whole series. This was a 5star (✮✮✮✮✮) episode.
