And we continue with the amazing season 2 of Merlin. Somehow it has developed so much from the first to the second season, I cannot understand. But I love it!
Btw, still, if someone wants to join me with this I would be very happy for someone to share these reviews with^^ Click here for the introduction to see how this was meant to work out.
This episode hit me right in the feels! Oh…oh…Lancelot! That beautiful soul and kindhearted person. He’s exactly what a knight should be. But this episode makes my heart bleed. But well, I shouldn’t start with the end of the episode. Let’s start from the beginning.
In this story Morgana and Guinevere are kidnapped and are meant to be used as a bargain ship, or more to get a ransom, by the outlaw Hengist. Morgana, however, manages to escape while Gwen chooses to stay behind due to her twisted ankle. The kidnappers convinces Hengist that Gwen is Morgana and she has to play the part to stay alive.
Morgana has gotten back to the Camelot bu Uther refuses to send a rescue party for Gwen. Artur then takes matters into his own hands and he and Merlin leave Camelot.
In Hengist’s castle Gwen meets Lancelot again (fangirl moment) and old feelings start to resurface. And there we have the premise for this episode.
The Merlin and Arthur duo gives the episode the well known humour you want and you also see how their friendship have deepened. When Merlin gets Arthur to confess his feelings you see a completely new side of both of them and their friendship. They really do trust each other (as well as mess with each other).
The Gwen and Lancelot story line in this episode makes you question all your feelings from episode 2 – The Once and Future Queen. Lancelot or Arthur? They both are amazing characters. I’ve seen this series so many times and still I am confused! This is just… oh… the reason for my bleeding heart.
This episode was again a 5 star episode. Feels all over the place. Wonderfully written. Crappy special effects (but it’s kind of adorable). Great dialogue. What did you think?
