A+ on the test
A book or character that makes you smile?
Should I go for the obvious one? No, I think I’ll try to be more creative than that. So instead I chose How to Cheat a Dragon’s Curse (How to Train Your Dragon #4) by Cressida Cowell. This one makes me smile just thinking of the Swedish title Hur du stjäl en potatis, which loosely translates to How you steal a potato.
A fictional family that you want to be a part of?
This time I cannot go for anything else than Harry Potter related, the Weasly family. Who wouldn’t love to be part of this amazing and loving family?
A book that tries to make a difference?
The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History by Elizabeth Kolbert definitely tries to open up peoples eyes to what is happening in the world and how serious it is. It tells the reader about how species are disappearing from this world in an alarming rate – the sixth mass extinction. I recommend it to everyone.
High School Sweetheart
A book character you have a crush on?
Which one to chose? I try to think of a recent one but haven’t really had any these last few months. But oh back in January, Rhysand from A Cour of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. Didn’t crush on him as much in ACOWAR though.
A book with a beautiful cover?
This is the most beautiful book I own, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling. I wish more books were designed like this. It is just stunning and has a premium place on my shelf.
A book you can always turn to when you need an escape?
I cannot say anything else on this. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K. Rowling has been, and will probably always be, the book I turn to in time of need. Here you see the Swedish cover (which I think is one of the more beautiful ones).
A book character(s) you want to have lunch with?
Kelsier from The Final Empire (Mistborn #1) by Brandon Sanderson. His energy and joy and determination. I think it would be an inspiring lunch. He would probably convince me to do something dangerous for some dangerous and impossible cause.
A character you would like to be for one day?
Shallan Davar from The Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson. This is a really strong female character that is multidimensional and believable. If you want to read a multi-perspective story with kick-ass female and male characters, read this! Shallan is not alone.
A villain you don’t want to go to school with?
Julene from The Powder Mage Trilogy by Brian McClellan. What a despicable woman! She only does things for herself, with no regard to others. High School would have been hell if she’d been there.
A book with a bittersweet conclusion?
The Book of the Unnamed Midwife by Meg Elison is incredible. It was one of the top books I read last year and I need to reread it. Everyone, no matter what genres you usually read, should read this. It is a gift to have read this book.
Have to say I’ve been really bad at posting for quite some time. But no stress and no worries. I won’t make any promises, just know this, this blog has not died 🙂
