A Story About Luna

This is the story I promised Angelina from Where Dragons Reside. I hope you enjoy it!

“Rolf, look at this!”

Luna looked through the branches. The disturbance of the water grew stronger. She felt Rolf moving beside her and then he moved some branches to get a better look.

“Do you think we found it?” he asked.

Third Week – NaNoWriMo 2016

NaNoWriMoSo this has been a complete failure. A lot of people finish this challenge, but there are those of us who fail as well. I was so motivated to start, but not being able to write every single day killed the writing spirit a bit. During the last week I have written a total of 0 words. Zero. Not a single one.

So how should I deal with this failure?

Firstly, I will look at my achievements.

  • I have written over 10 000 words, which means the story is longer than anything I’ve written before.
  • The story I’m writing, I’ve fallen in love with it.
  • I know how many words I can write a day without problem.

Secondly, I will focus on them instead of the failure.

Thirdly, I will continue writing on this story even after NaNoWriMo has ended. If I can get this story to 50 000 words at any point it is an achievement.

How are you doing? Better I hope 😀 But if you are at the same page as me, don’t lose hope. Just continue writing a little every day and you will get to 50 000. Let’s make the comment section a motivation board.

Second Week – NaNoWriMo 2016

NaNoWriMoThis is bad. Really bad.

My first year as a NaNoWriMo participant has already become a joke. I don’t even know how far behind I am at the moment, and to be honest, I don’t want to know. However, I won’t give up! Even though there isn’t even a snow ball’s chance in hell that I will get to 50 000 words before the end on November, I am going to continue writing. I want to write a little bit every day, and try to reach those 1667 words. And then I’ll see where I am at the end.

So how is your writing going? Going to join me in the “writing but then life happens” corner or are you a fighter and will reach the 50 000 word goal at the end?

Happy writing to you all!

First Week – NaNoWriMo 2016

Warning: This will be a rant.

NaNoWriMoIt went so well. I wrote more than enough words every day. Then weekend came. And I think I wrote a 1000 words in total that weekend. I have a lot of writing to do this week if I want to be able to finish this challenge in time!

At the moment I have 7 613 words. I need 11 666 words. 4000 more today and then I’d be back in business. That’s too much. I’ve already written 1500+ today. 500 more and I could go to sleep happy. I had quite a good flow going but now it just stopped.

How will I solve this problem with being approximately 4000 words behind schedule? Well, I need to write at least 2000 words a day. And how will I do that? By writing until inspirations disappears and the continue writing.

My tip for writing without inspiration: Something amazing to drink. My choice is glögg (since it will soon be Christmas) or Mint Chocolate.

How is your NaNoWriMo going? Meeting all the deadlines? Given up already? Struggling or having the time of your life?
